World News: Russian President Vladimir Putin has shown no signs of stopping the war in Ukraine, even after U.S. President Donald Trump warned of strong actions. According to sources close to the Russian government, Putin has made up his mind – he will only agree to peace if the Western countries accept his conditions.

Trump’s Warning: Sanctions and Weapons for Ukraine

Just a day before Putin’s statement, Trump said he would send more weapons to Ukraine. He also warned that if Russia doesn’t agree to peace within 50 days, he might place heavy taxes (up to 100%) on countries doing business with Russia. His goal is to isolate Russia financially.

Putin Firm: Not Afraid of Western Pressure

Officials from the Kremlin (Russia’s presidential office) said that Putin won’t give in to pressure. They explained that Russia has already faced some of the world’s harshest sanctions but continues to survive. Putin thinks his country can handle more restrictions if needed.

One of the sources said, “Putin believes no major country is making a serious effort to bring peace. So, he sees no reason to stop.”

Trump and Putin Have Talked, But No Peace Progress

Despite a few phone calls between Trump and Putin, and a visit to Russia by Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, nothing important was decided. According to insiders, the talks were general and lacked any solid peace plan.

Russia Ready for More Sanctions

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking after a diplomatic meeting in China, said that his country is ready for any new U.S. actions. He played down Trump’s threats about trade tariffs and said that Russia is already used to dealing with extreme sanctions.

Lavrov stated, “We are prepared. Sanctions are not new to us. Our country will manage.”

Trump Accuses Putin of Hypocrisy

After a meeting with NATO official Mark Rutte, Trump criticized Putin, saying that he acts friendly in the daytime but orders attacks by night. This shows Trump no longer trusts what Putin says publicly.

Billions in U.S. Military Aid to Ukraine

Trump also announced a huge defense package for Ukraine. This includes Patriot missile systems for protection and possibly weapons to strike back. Still, he advised Ukraine not to attack Moscow, suggesting that the U.S. wants to avoid making the war even more dangerous.
